Sinusitis Fatigue Symptoms

Fatigue is defined as extreme tiredness and an inability to perform everyday tasks with your usual amount of energy.  The body requires more energy to respond to an attack on the immune system during a sinusitis infection, utilizing calories that are typically used for daily life to fight an infection, resulting in fatigue.  In addition, airway obstruction at night due to inflamed sinus passages, nasal congestion, sore-throat, and coughing also disrupts sleep, results in less sleep during a time when your body needs sleep most.

·         Fatigue is considered a symptom as opposed to a medical sign, as it is reported by the patient instead of being observed by others.  Fatigue, like a fever, is an immune response that develops to fight the bacteria during the course of a sinusitis infection.  Fatigue is when a person feels weak and unmotivated.  Fatigue can be a symptom of many types of medical and mental disorders.

Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses caused by a blockage in the sinus cavity caused by foreign debris.  The blockage of bacteria, fungi or virus also triggers excess mucus production in the sinus cavities and inflammation due to the pathogens attacking the sinus cavity openings.  When the sinus cavity openings are attacked this leads to a more serious sinus infection.  Sinusitis develops typically as a result when there is existing inflammation from a cold or allergy.  When bacteria get into the sinus cavities, they attack the swelling of the cavity lining, causing more inflammation.  During a sinusitis infection, the cilia which are small hairs in the nasal passageways cannot perform their function of removing the debris that is blocked inside the sinus cavity.   There are a myriad of symptoms that take place with a sinusitis infection.  Common symptoms of a sinusitis infection include: cough, upper respiratory congestion, postnasal drip, nasal discharge, fever, facial pain, facial pressure, and fatigue.  Sinusitis fatigue symptoms are often part of a chronic sinusitis infection with fatigue being a natural part of healing during any infection.

Sinusitis typically requires medical treatment and there are several different treatment options available.  Many physicians prescribe oral antibiotics to treat sinusitis; oral antibiotics are currently the most common treatment utilized to treat a sinusitis infection and yet they are marginally effective.  Oral antibiotics unfortunately rely on the blood stream and blood vessels exclusively to carry medication to the infected sinus cavity.  Relying on the sinus cavities to provide the medication through the limited supply of blood vessels in the sinus cavities is problematic as the blood vessels cannot deliver an effective dose of medication to the actual site of infection.  Recurrent sinusitis infections are common with the use of oral antibiotics due to the blood vessels inability to provide an effective dose to the site of infection.  The sinus cavities scant supply of blood vessels which are swollen and infected providing all the treatment to the infection results in an ineffective method for treating this area of the body.   In short, it is difficult to effectively treat any sinusitis infection with oral antibiotics.

Nasal irrigation and nasal sprays are often recommended to alleviate nasal congestion and inflammation.   The combination of inflamed nasal passages and copious amounts of mucus make it almost impossible to breath, contributing to fatigue and sleep disruption.   Nasal sprays and nasal irrigation are treatments widely used but also are limited in their ability to actually treat the infection.  Nasal sprays are obtained over the counter or prescribed by a physician.   Due to the design of the nasal spray bottle, the particle size is large and cannot fit into the tiny sinus openings nor can the particle reach into the upper regions of the nasal passage.  This large particle size cannot treat the inflamed openings of the sinus cavities nor remove the pathogens caught inside the upper sinus cavities.  When bacteria actively attack the sinus openings a treatment that can reach the site of infection is needed to provide relief, especially the upper sinus cavity openings that are hard to reach.  Therefore, a nasal spray can only offer limited relief and treatment to the lower sinuses in a sinusitis infection and definitely could not reach the deep sinuses located deep in the skull, such as the sphenoid sinuses.  When physicians have failed in treating the sinusitis infection, they will often recommend sinus surgery.  Sinus surgery is painful and only clears out a portion of the infection; usually the sinusitis infection returns requiring patients to have future surgeries.  Patients suffering with fatigue and sinusitis need to rest, drink fluids, and take the medications that have been prescribed.  Decongestants, humidifiers, antihistamines and vitamin Care also helpful to provide symptom relief during a sinusitis infection.

Sinus Dynamics offers the most effective treatment for all types of sinusitis infections.  Sinus Dynamics custom compounded antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories are delivered with a pressurized aerosolized mist through a state of the art nebulizer into the sinus cavities.  Sinus Dynamics nebulizer emits a fine medicated mist with 3.2-micron particle size that can rapidly enter the inflamed sinus cavities, depositing medication and making contact with the infection directly.

·
The aerosolized medicated mist is sent up into nasal passages reaching the actual site of the sinusitis infection, fighting the infection on contact.  Sinus Dynamics’ topical approach to treating sinusitis is particularly effective as medications that are topically applied result in little to no side effects and ensure a low systemic absorption rate as well as reaching the infection unlike the other treatment methods commonly prescribed.

·         Sinus Dynamics sinus therapy method is highly effective, easy to use, and safe with a 98% success rate in the treatment of patients who are suffering with sinusitis.  Contact Sinus Dynamics today to discuss treatment options for your sinusitis fatigue syndrome (877) 447-4276.
