Sinusitis vs. Sinus Infection
It usually is preceded by a cold, allergy attack, or irritation by environmental pollutants. Unlike a cold, or allergy, bacterial sinusitis requires a physician's diagnosis and treatment with an antibiotic to cure the infection and prevent future complication. |
Sinusitis is an inflammatory condition in the sinus cavities. Sinusitis begins when a person had swelling in the sinus cavities, usually caused by a cold or allergy, which gets attacked by bacteria, and as a result greater inflammation occurs. Then cilia then can no longer flush out the bacteria and mucus and as a result they become trapped and the sinusitis infection begins. Some of the symptoms of sinusitis include cough, congestion, facial pain and pressure, green nasal discharge, and postnasal drip. The maxillary sinuses are located beneath the cheeks and to the sides of the nose. Some additional problems a person might have with maxillary sinusitis is upper tooth pain, pain in the cheeks, and pressure below the eyes.
One common treatment for maxillary and other forms of sinusitis is nasal sprays. One of the problems with nasal sprays is that they have a large particle size that cannot get past the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavities to get to the sinusitis infection. Oral antibiotics and antihistamines are also frequently used. These types of medicines work by traveling through the blood stream to the area where they are needed. In the sinus cavities however, there are very few blood vessels so it is difficult for an effective amount of the medication to be delivered to the sinusitis infection. Surgery is usually used as a last resort after the other forms of treatment have been exhausted. During surgery they usually only remove a portion of the inflammation and infection, therefore the sinus problems usually return shortly after.
Sinus Dynamics is the most effective and innovative treatment for sinusitis and the problems that come along with it. Sinus Dynamics uses nebulized antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories in a 3.2 micron sized particle to rapidly fight through the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavities to easily fight the sinusitis infection and its symptoms. Since Sinus Dynamics medications are topical, there are little to no side effects and they stay only in the blood stream around the sinus cavities, unlike other treatments that flow throughout the whole body. Sinus Dynamics nebulized therapy is safe, easy, and has a 98% success rate in patients.
