Sinusitis Allergies

Sinusitis is inflammation of the sinuses that usually is caused by a blockage in the sinus cavity by foreign debris.  The result of having a blockage of bacteria, fungi or virus is excess mucus production in the sinus cavities and inflammation due to the pathogens attacking the sinus cavity openings.  When the sinus cavity openings are attacked by bacteria this leads to a more serious sinus infection.  Sinusitis develops typically when there is existing inflammation from a cold or allergy.  An allergy is the production of histamine due to the presence of an allergen. Excess mucus production is the result of histamine which is seen as a hyperactivity response.  Sinusitis allergies aka as allergic rhinitis can develop from exposure to allergens which later develop into a sinusitis infection.  Once bacteria get trapped in the sinus cavities, they attack the swelling of the cavity lining, causing more inflammation.  During a sinusitis infection, the cilia which are small hairs in the nasal passageways cannot perform their function of removing the debris that is blocked inside the sinus cavity.   There are a myriad of symptoms that take place with a sinusitis infection.  Common symptoms of a sinusitis infection include: cough, upper respiratory congestion, postnasal drip, nasal discharge, fever, facial pain and facial pressure.

The most common treatment that is widely prescribed for a sinusitis infection is an oral antibiotic.  Oral antibiotics rely on the blood stream and blood vessels to carry the medication to the infected site.  A significant problem exists for the sinus cavities relying on the blood vessels exclusively to deliver medication to the infected sinus cavities; the sinus cavities are characterized be very few blood vessels.  With a scant amount of blood vessels found in the sinus cavity, these tiny swollen nasal membranes that are also infected cannot provide an effective dose of medication.   In short, it is difficult to effectively treat any sinusitis infection with oral medication.

Nasal sprays are often used during an allergy attack, to remove debris that is stuck in the nasal passages.  Helpful in sinusitis infection, a nasal spray is typically obtained over the counter or prescribed by a physician.  There are limitations with utilizing nasal sprays in providing actual treatment.  Due to the design of the nasal spray bottle, a nasal spray emits a large particle size that cannot fit into the tiny sinus openings nor can the particle reach into the upper regions of the nasal passage.  The large particle size of the nasal spray delivered into the sinus cavity cannot reach the site of inflammation or infection and thereby it cannot reduce the inflammation at the sinus cavity openings nor remove the pathogens caught inside the upper sinus cavities.

·         When bacteria actively attack the sinus openings a treatment that can reach the site of infection is needed, especially the upper sinus cavity openings that are hard to reach.  Medications that cannot make contact with the infected areas that are deep inside the sinus cavities are not effective.  Therefore, a nasal spray can only offer limited relief and treatment to the lower sinuses in a sinusitis infection and they definitely cannot reach deep inside where some sinuses are located deep in the skull, such as the sphenoid sinuses.  Nasal sprays flush out the lower nasal passages only and remove pathogens in the lower sinus regions.

Treatment that is Topical

A topical treatment is available from Sinus Dynamics!  Aerosol therapy is offered by Sinus Dynamics, the most effective treatment for all types of sinusitis infections.  Sinus Dynamics custom compounded antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories are delivered with a pressurized aerosolized mist through a state of the art nebulizer.  Sinus Dynamics nebulizer emits a fine medicated mist with 3.2-micron particle size that can rapidly enter the inflamed sinus cavities and fight through the bacteria, reaching the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavities.  The aerosolized medicated mist is sent up into the actual site of the sinusitis infection, fighting the infection on contact.  Sinus Dynamics’ topical approach to treating sinusitis is highly effective as medications that are topically applied result in little to no side effects and ensure a low systemic absorption rate.  Sinus Dynamics sinus therapy is highly effective, easy to use, and safe with a 98% success rate in the treatment of patients who are suffering with a sinusitis infections.  Call Sinus Dynamics today to order your treatment for sinusitis allergies (877) 447-4276.
