Sinusitis Infection Symptoms

A sinusitis infection is a condition caused by a blockage of bacteria and mucus in the sinus cavities.  This blockage usually begins when a person has a cold or allergy and their sinus cavity becomes swollen.  During this time, sometimes bacteria will get into the cavity and attack the swollen cavity wall, which causes greater inflammation.  The cilia can then no longer wash out the bacteria and mucus since the opening to the cavities is so swollen.  There are many symptoms of a sinusitis infection.  Some of the symptoms include congestion, cough, facial pain and pressure, green nasal discharge, and post nasal drip.  Then the sinusitis infection last for twelve or more weeks, it is considered chronic and may have added symptoms such as loss of sense of taste and smell, and the person may become fatigued.
