Preventing Sinusitis

To avoid developing sinusitis during a cold or allergy attack, keep your sinuses clear by:

  • Using an oral decongestant or a short course of nasal spray decongestant
  • To keep nasal discharge thin, you can use this technique: gently blow your nose and block one nostril by blowing through the other
  • Avoiding air travel. If you must fly, use a nasal spray decongestant before take-off to prevent blockage of the sinuses allowing mucus to drain
  • If you have allergies try to avoid contact with substances that trigger attacks

Allergy testing, followed by appropriate allergy treatments, may increase your tolerance of allergy-causing substances.

Sinusitis vs. Sinus Infection

Acute bacterial sinusitis is an infection of the sinus cavities caused by bacteria.

It usually is preceded by a cold, allergy attack, or irritation by environmental pollutants.

Unlike a cold, or allergy, bacterial sinusitis requires a physician's diagnosis and treatment with an antibiotic to cure the infection and prevent future complication.

Sinusitis Vaporizer Treatment

Sinusitis is a condition that is caused by a blockage of bacteria and mucus in the sinus cavities.  This blockage starts when a person has existing swelling in the sinuses from a cold or allergy, which becomes attacked by bacteria which then causes greater inflammation.  When this amount of inflammation exists, the cilia can no longer flush out the bacteria and mucus and the sinusitis infection begins.  Sinusitis may have such symptoms as cough, congestion, postnasal drip, green nasal discharge, and facial pain and pressure.  When the sinusitis lasts for twelve or more weeks, it is considered chronic and can also include symptoms such as loss of sense of taste and smell and the person may become fatigued.

There are many forms of treatment for sinusitis.  Some people with sinusitis may try using a vaporizer.  A vaporizer is meant to help relive symptoms of sinusitis by producing hot steam.  This steam from the vaporizer is supposed to thin out the mucus and moisten the sinus cavities.  A vaporizer may help to prevent sinusitis, but once the infection is in the sinus cavities, the vaporizer cannot get rid of the infection itself so it may only offer temporary relief.  Another form of treatment that is commonly used is nasal sprays.  Nasal sprays can only offer relief to the lower part of the sinuses since its particle size is too large to make it past the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavities and up to the sinusitis infection.

Sinus Dynamics is the most advanced form of treatment for sinusitis on the market.  Sinus Dynamics antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti inflammatories are used in a nebulized form, making it easy for the 3.2 micron sized particles to make their way through the infection and inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavity, to get to where the infection is, and to where no other medication can effectively get to.  Sinus Dynamics antibiotics are more effective than oral antibiotics in a sinus infection, due to them being directly nebulized into the infection and strait into the blood stream in the sinus cavities.  There are little to no side effects because such a small amount of medicine is used and will not travel through the blood stream into the rest of the body. Sinus Dynamics 98% success rate clearly shows that this is the most successful treatment in sinus infections
