Sinusitis Viral Bradycardia

Sinus infections are typically viral and can impact more than just the sinus area.  The respiratory system and the cardiovascular system are connected; the heart and the lungs.  When our breathing is impaired by a sinusitis infection it is usually because of severe congestion and inflammation.  As inflammation and congestion obstruct our airways making it difficult to breathe it is usually due to swollen membranes, excessive mucus and phlegm blocking the airways.  The connection of our breathing or “respiration” to the cardiovascular system is a vital function.  The heart will beat faster or slower depending on the amount of oxygen we breathe in.  There is a rhythm to each breath per heat beat, referred to as the Sinuatrial Node aka sinus node.  The sinus node refers to the cells in the heart that have an electrical charge and “beat”; the heart beat produces a rhythm.  “Bradycardia is a heart rhythm that originates from the sinus node that is below normal and has a heart rate that is 60 beats per minute or under.”  A normal heart rate is anywhere between 60-95 beats per minute.  If our hearts are not beating fast enough and we are not taking as many breaths needed to function a variety of conditions arise that are problematic mainly due to not getting enough oxygen.  This lowered heart beat and breath intake is referred to as bradycardia; when we become lightheaded, dizzy, syncopic, or hypotensive.   Each breath we take directly interacts with our lungs delivering oxygen to the blood stream.   Bradycardia in an adult is any heart rate less than 60 beats per minute, although symptoms usually manifest only for heart rates less than 50. Bradycardia can be treated with medication and an increase in oxygen.

Most cases of sinusitis are viral and are caused by the common cold.  Sinusitis bradycardia viral infection, like bronchitis and other upper respiratory infections are viral and resolve in one to two weeks.  Nasal discharge of viral sinusitis is clear, unlike the nasal discharge from a bacterial infection.  Most sinusitis bacterial infections also resolve within one to two weeks but infections like Strep are typically treated with antibiotics to prevent heart disease, fever, and kidney disease.  Risk factors that contribute to developing sinusitis include but are not limited to: regular exposure to pollutants, allergy or have fever, a deviated septum, medical conditions such as GERD, cystic fibrosis, HIV, (or any antibody disorder), as well as some rare genetic disorders such as Young’s Syndrome.  Treatment of viral sinusitis will likely also include antihistamines and antibiotics as the sinusitis infection tends to develop a secondary infection do the environmental factors predisposing the patient to infection e.g wet sinus passages.  Prophylactic antibiotic treatment is frequently utilized with sinusitis as well as decongestants and antihistamines to reduce mucus production and decrease swollen sinus cavity membranes. The blockage of foreign debris of bacteria, fungi or virus triggers excess mucus production in the sinus cavities and inflammation due to the pathogens attacking the sinus cavity openings.  When the sinus cavity openings are attacked this leads to a more serious sinus infection.

A sinusitis infection is inflammation of the sinuses that has trapped bacteria and mucus inside the sinus cavities.  The normal course of a sinus infection is due to a viral cold or allergy in place that is causing inflammation which is exacerbated by the pathogens attacking the sinus cavity openings.  The bacteria that are trapped inside the sinus area then attack the already inflamed sinus cavity to the point where the cilia can no longer wash out the bacteria and mucus.  Symptoms of a sinusitis infection include congestion, facial pressure, cough, nasal discharge, and fever.

When the respiratory function is impaired and there are symptoms of Bradycardia, a slow heart rate, it is essential to treat the sinusitis infection.  Bradycardia is also related to sick sinus syndrome which is a condition where the sinus node is not functioning properly.  Bradycardia is recognized by feeling dizziness, fatigue and light headed.  Bradycardia is a condition of the heart, which produces a slow heart rate.  Bradycardia is related to sick sinus syndrome, which is a condition where the sinus node isn’t functioning as usual.  Sinusitis Infection with Bradycardia can be treated with medication and breathing treatments or an increase in oxygen.

There are many treatment options for a sinusitis infection.  Oral antibiotics and decongestants are frequently prescribed.  Oral antibiotics and other oral medications function by utilizing the blood stream to carry medications to the infected area by way of the blood vessels.  However, the sinus cavity has a small amount of blood vessels so that a significant amount of medication cannot be fully distributed to the infected site.  Nasal sprays are commonly used in combination with antibiotics.  Nasal sprays can be purchased over the counter or prescribed.  Nasal sprays have difficulty providing effective relief due the large particle size that is deposited into the sinus cavity.  The large particle size emitted from the nasal spray bottle is too large to travel up into the sinus cavity and pass through the inflammation in the upper sinus openings, and thus cannot provide effective treatment.

Sinus Dynamics offers the most innovative approach to treating a sinusitis infection using custom compounded antibiotics, anti-inflammatories and anti-fungals deposited into the sinus area directly with a state of the art nebulizer, topically treating the infection directly.  Sinus Dynamics’ nebulizer emits a medicated mist that is a 3.2 micron sized particle that can travel through the inflammation at the opening of the sinus cavity, and straight into the sinusitis infection.  Sinus Dynamics nebulized medications are much more effective in treating a sinusitis infection since it does not rely on the limited supply of blood vessels in the sinus cavity to fight the sinusitis infection, like oral medications.  There are little to no side effects with Sinus dynamics nebulized compounded medications as a topical treatment results in a low systemic absorption rate.  Call today to find out how Sinus Dynamics
(877) 447-4276 sinus therapy treatment method that has a 98% success rate in the treatment of patients with sinusitis can treat your sinusitis viral bradycardia infection.  Patient satisfaction and clinical studies clearly show that Sinus Dynamics’ treatment method is also one of the most effective currently on the market.
