Water Pik Sinusitis Irrigation

Sinus irrigators are devices used with the purpose of removing debris, allergens, excess mucus, and pathogens from thriving in trapped mucus in the nasal cavity and they are used to treat the spectrum of sinusitis and nasal conditions.  As an adjunctive treatment, nasal irrigation is effective in improving quality of life as well as reducing reliance on medications.  The Water Pik Irrigator for Sinusitis can be used to alleviate symptoms of sinusitis which can be induced by environmental factors.  Evidence suggests that sinus irrigation is effective in relief for allergies and colds.  There are a variety of irrigators available that can assist with sinus cleansing and prevent trapped bacteria from developing into a sinusitis infection.  The likelihood of a secondary infection is considerably less if you can breathe through your nose.  A Water Pik is an electric nasal irrigator that emits a stream of pulsating water into the nasal cavity.  Caution should be used when turning the device on and beginners should use more caution in water pressure to avoid irritating the nasal passages.  The Water Pik Sinusitis Irrigator was originally designed as an oral irrigator used to remove plaque from teeth and gums.

There are also nasal irrigator devices available which are motorized, both electric and battery operated.  Motorized nasal irrigators offer a pulsating irrigation, a more direct way of rinsing the nasal passages. The pressure and flow of the rinsing mixture can be specified and controlled for your preference and need.  Using motorized nasal irrigators offer a more thorough and customized rinsing with the pulsating solution being sent deeper into the nasal passages.  The purpose of a sinus irrigator is to clean out his or her sinus cavities and nasal passages as well as prevent the development of an infection.  For individuals who already have a sinus problem or allergies, a sinus irrigator can help improve a preexisting condition by clearing out nasal congestion, post nasal drip and other allergens with water and saline solutions.

Sinus irrigation is a very effective way of taking care of your sinus passages and nasal area.  The goal of the sinus irrigation process is to flush out unwanted elements in your nose and sinuses and for individuals who chose to clean out their sinuses for optimum sinus and general respiratory health.  The unwanted elements present in the nasal cavity may be allergens, dust particles, pollen, excess mucus, bacteria or fungi. Another goal of sinus irrigation is to retain and restore the natural movement of the cilia.  The cilia are the hairs found in the mucus membranes of the nasal passages, needed to protect the nasal area from infection.

There are various methods of sinus irrigation put into practice. A person seeking to use nasal irrigation will then utilize one of the many types of sinus irrigators available.  Sinus irrigators are easily obtained and tend to be convenient as well as satisfying for the person in need of nasal irrigation.  A nose rinse or nasal douche is a typical sinus irrigator usually purchased that can be bought at drug store. A nose rinse simply provides a liquid mixture that usually contains saline (salt water) to be squirted into the nasal passage and gently blown out of the nose with the aid of running water and / or a wash cloth.

Another method of nasal irrigation is the “neti pot” which is probably the oldest known nasal irrigator and used for centuries in India. A neti pot is a nasal irrigator that looks like a small teapot-like container which holds the water and an added salt mixture.  The person seeking to irrigate their nasal passages with a neti pot pours the salt water mixture into one nostril, while leaning over a bathroom sink, and waits until the salt water mixture flows out of the other nasal passage.  A person choosing to use a neti pot can also use plain water.

A nebulizer can also act as an effective sinus irrigator. The nebulizers provided by Sinus Dynamics help clear out the sinus infection, gently forcing unwanted particles out of the nasal passages as the ultrasonic nebulizer delivers a continuous stream of medication.  The particles emitted from Sinus Dynamics nebulizer have a mass median aerodynamic MMAD of 1.0. to 3.2.  Sinus Dynamics’ nebulizers are well designed, high quality devices, and are not susceptible to contamination like other competing nebulizers.  Patient coordination is not required with the handheld design as they are  very easy to use.  The inhaled medicated mist reduces inflammation and loosens impacted debris.  The Sinus Dynamics Nebulizer irrigates your nasal passages gently and effectively.  In addition, Sinus Dynamics provides the antibiotics, anti-fungals and anti- inflammatories needed to treat the vast array of sinus conditions.

Sinus Dynamics offers the most innovative and effective treatment for sinusitis infections.  Sinus Dynamics custom compounded antibiotics, anti-fungals, and anti-inflammatories are delivered with a pressurized aerosolized mist through a state of the art nebulizer into the sinus cavities.  Sinus Dynamics nebulizer emits a fine medicated mist with 3.2-micron particle size that can rapidly enter the inflamed sinus cavities, depositing medication and making contact with the infection directly. The aerosolized medicated mist is sent up into nasal passages reaching the actual site of the sinusitis infection, fighting the infection on contact.  Sinus Dynamics’ topical approach to treating sinusitis is particularly effective as medications that are topically applied result in little to no side effects and ensure a low systemic absorption rate as well as reaching the site of infection unlike the other treatment methods prescribed.  Sinus Dynamics sinus therapy is highly effective, easy to use, and safe with a 98% success rate in the treatment of patients who are suffering with sinusitis.  Consider a more effective method of treating your sinus infection, call Sinus Dynamics (877) 447-4276 today!
