Sinus Dynamics™ is a program offered by General Home Pharmacy in Westlake Village, CA. Our program works with Otolaryngologists, Allergists, and Primary care physicians to provide the latest aerosolizing equipment and custom compounded medications for treatment of Chronic Sinusitis and Rhinitis.

General Home Pharmacy Inc. launched the Sinus Dynamics™ program in October of 2004 at the annual meeting of the American Academy of Otolaryngology and Head and Neck Surgeons in New York City.

The Sinus Dynamics™ pharmacists work with Physicians and their patients nationwide. We provide the most advanced technology in aerosolizing equipment and custom compounded medications. Insurance billing for all equipment and medications is part of our service. Patients are never sent equipment or medications without understanding their copays and deductibles.

The Program

  • Patients are consulted on use of equipment and medications prior to and during use.
  • Follow-up of patients is done before and after treatment (Physicians are notified via fax or e-mail concerning outcomes).
  • Medications are custom compounded to physician's specifications using sterile compounding process.
  • All medications come with customized instructions and warnings concerning use with nasal nebulizer.
  • The Sinus Dynamics™ Pharmacists use a translation service to communicate in over 150 languages with patients English.

Topical medication treatments for sinus problems have been accepted therapy for many years. Topical application of medications requires lower dosing and results in low system absorption of medication, which greatly decreases side effects. Preventing Sinusitis

To avoid developing sinusitis during a cold or allergy attack, keep your sinuses clear by:

  • Using an oral decongestant or a short course of nasal spray decongestant
  • To keep nasal discharge thin, you can use this technique: gently blow your nose and block one nostril by blowing through the other
  • Avoiding air travel. If you must fly, use a nasal spray decongestant before take-off to prevent blockage of the sinuses allowing mucus to drain
  • If you have allergies try to avoid contact with substances that trigger attacks

Allergy testing, followed by appropriate allergy treatments, may increase your tolerance of allergy-causing substances.

Sinusitis vs. Sinus Infection

Acute bacterial sinusitis is an infection of the sinus cavities caused by bacteria.


It usually is preceded by a cold, allergy attack, or irritation by environmental pollutants.

Unlike a cold, or allergy, bacterial sinusitis requires a physician's diagnosis and treatment with an antibiotic to cure the infection and prevent future complication.
